# Affiliate and review compliance notes for Aloha Tested

This file is not legal advice. It is a practical checklist for the developer/content team.

## Amazon disclosure

Every page with Amazon affiliate links should clearly and prominently include:

> As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Do not hide this only in the footer. Keep a disclosure near the first buy button or recommendation.

## FTC disclosure

Each video should disclose the affiliate relationship in the video itself. Best practice for short-form video:

- On-screen text near the beginning: “Affiliate link / I may earn a commission.”
- Spoken disclosure near the beginning: “This video has affiliate links, so I may earn a commission.”
- Repeat in the caption/description.

## Product images

This prototype intentionally does not include downloaded Amazon product photos. Amazon Program Content, including images, is governed by Amazon’s license and policy rules. Use one of these approaches:

1. Shoot your own original photos and video stills.
2. Ask the brand for written permission or a press kit.
3. Use Amazon PA API/SiteStripe/approved tools according to current Amazon terms.

Do not scrape and package Amazon product images into a developer zip.

## Amazon reviews and ratings

Do not paste Amazon customer reviews, Amazon star ratings, or review screenshots into pages unless you are using approved Amazon tools and following current Amazon policies. Instead:

- Read reviews as research.
- Identify common concerns.
- Test those concerns yourself.
- Write original answers based on your own test.

## Prices and availability

Use button text such as “Check current price on Amazon.” Do not manually publish exact Amazon prices unless compliant with Amazon rules and required disclaimers.

## Claims to avoid

For beauty/suncare/body products, avoid unsupported claims such as “cures,” “prevents,” “guarantees,” “medical-grade,” or “clinically proven” unless the claim is directly substantiated and you are comfortable with the compliance risk. Prefer:

- “Here is how it felt on my skin.”
- “Here is how long the scent lasted for me.”
- “Here is what the brand claims; here is what I tested.”

## Purchases through links

Do not buy through your own links. Do not ask friends, relatives, employees, contractors, or business partners to buy through your links to generate commission.
